Helen Gurley Brown was truly a pioneer of her time and one of the world's most recognized magazine editors in the fashion industry.
It was Gurley Brown who invented today's notion of a modern woman ... a woman who can have a career and a sex life; something that was considered taboo in the 60's. Although Gurley Brown stepped down  as editor and chief of Cosmopolitan magazine in 1997, her legacy of style and sexual freedom of women will be felt long after she is gone. I don't know if women today understand the legacy that Helen left for us. Her books and her magazines encouraged women to enjoy being single, to embrace sex and to find ourselves and our purpose by establishing meaningful relationships and careers. In addition to her enormous impact on woman across the world, her contribution to Cosmo Magazine are just as impressive. "Cosmopolitan magazine is now one of the top selling women's magazines in the world, published in 35 languages and in more than 100 countries, Hearst said. Helen was definitely a role model for the millions of women and I will remember her always!
